About the Builder

After years of design-build experience in Canada, the principals of Homes By The Sea Inc./Las Casas Para el Mar S.A. have brought their reputation of building  excellence to Costa Rica. Respected and dedicated craftsmen from Canada working side-by-side with local tradesmen.

Focusing on “one-build” at a time allows the principal builders to be hands-on and on-site each and every day to oversee every step of the build.  Quality control is paramount.

President Richard Lee brings to the company 30 years of construction and development experience. Richard has managed the construction of over 2,000 homes and over 2,000,000 square feet of commercial and retail space in Ottawa, Toronto, Edmonton, Quebec City and Halifax. Most recently, Richard was president of Town Craftsmen Ltd., a very successful renovation firm in Ottawa, specializing primarily in high end kitchens and baths.  The company had a very loyal clientele with considerable repeat business.
